The Albright College volleyball team recovered from a rough second game to control the final two sets as the Lions took an important Commonwealth Conference matchup at Arcadia, 3-1 (25-21, 13-25, 25-11, 25-14) on Tuesday.
After Arcadia took the second set 25-13, the Lions rallied to out-score the Knights by a two-to-one margin over two games to lock up the victory in commanding fashion.
Senior
Laura van Bendegem had her best game of the season, totaling 12 kills (on just 20 attempts) and six blocks, while hitting .450 overall.
The Lions won with efficient hitting as a team, totaling a .318 attack percentage. Albright hit over 40% in two of the games.
Freshman
Kyrsten Stanford had 10 kills, while sophomore Krista Mantz added eight kills and 14 digs. Junior
Morgan Heath had 32 assists and freshman
Brandy Blimline totaled five blocks.
With the victory, Albright improves to 6-12 and 2-2 in Commonwealth play. The Lions will compete in the Hampton Inn Crusader Classic at Susquehanna this weekend.
