Paced by three victories by
Codi Herr, the Albright College women's swimming team won its seventh in a row as it cruised to a 160-99 victory over Lycoming in a conference meet on Saturday afternoon.
Herr finished in first place in the 50 free and 100 free with times of 25.31 and 54.58 before taking the win later in the meet in the 100 fly.
The Lions got off to a good start in their first event, the 200 medley relay. The team of
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Kari Keller,
Madison Hauk, and
Gwen Stefan finished in first with a time of 1:56.30, and
Aimee Snyder,
Emily Summers, Herr and
Katy Oeste were right behind in second with a time of 1:56.85.
The wins kept coming as Albright took the top two spots in the 1000 free and 200 free.
Amanda Osterlind and
Liz Muller finished 1-2 in the 1000 free, and Snyder and Stefan did the same in the 200 free.
The next win came courtesy of Huizing with a time of 1:03.21 in the 100 back. Following her win, Albright swept the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke as Keller, Muller and Summers finished 1-2-3.
After Lycoming returned the favor with a sweep of the 200 butterfly, Herr got things going with her first two victories. Albright continued the momentum in the 200 back and 500 free. Keller and Summers finished in the top two spots in the 200 back, while Stefan and Oeste recorded a 1-2 finish in the 500 free.
Completing Albright's dominance was a win by Snyder with a time of 4:58.98 in the 400 IM.
Albright is now 7-1 and 5-0 in the MAC. They return to the pool on January 7 for a matchup against Ocean County College.
