Using their depth and speed at home to place first in every event, the Albright men's swimming team overwhelmed Ocean County College 107-77 on Saturday.
The Lions spread around the success in the water as six different Lions from every class year scored first-place finishes to jump out to an insurmountable lead.
Three Lions recorded top finishes apiece, as freshman
Rick Sutton continued his impressive rookie campaign with first-place finishes in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:21:17) and the 100 yard backstroke (56.18 seconds) to jumpstart the Lions.
Sophomore
Stephen Thomas also recorded two victories, first in the 200 yard IM with a 2:06.31 time and then in the 100 yard butterfly event with a 56.79 second time. Junior
Sean Spellacy won the 200 yard freestyle (1:55.21) and the difficult 500 yard freestyle (5:11:34). Fellow junior Timmy Pierce clocked in at 50.69 seconds to win the 100 freestyle event.
Senior
Brad Epstein (100 yard breaststroke, 1:10.57) and sophomore
Mike McBride (50 yard free, 22.54 seconds recorded first-place finishes to win the meet.
The Lions are now 8-1 on the season. The return to action on January 14 when they hit the road to take on Misericordia for a Middle Atlantic Conference meet.
