Results
The Albright women's swimming team won the top two spots in every event and a team of Lady Lions broke a pool record en route to a 127-52 non-conference victory over Ocean County College Saturday.
In the 800 yard freestyle relay, the team of seniors
Aimee Snyder and
Katy Oeste, freshman
Gwen Stefan and sophomore
Codi Herr broke a pool record with a time of 8:23.36.
In the 200 free, Herr grabbed the top spot with a time of 2:02.54.
Snyder and junior
Madison Hauk of the Lady Lions placed first in a few events. Snyder swam a 1:04.30, placing first in the 100 back. Hauk finished first in the 100 butterfly (1:02.01). In the 200 yard medley relay, the team of freshman
Kaitlyn Huizing, senior
Amanda Jacobson, Hauk, and Snyder came in first place with a time of 2:03.70.
A handful of freshman played significant roles for the team. Freshman
Amanda Osterlind placed first in the 1000 free (11:08.07), while Huizing finished first in the 50 free (26.70).
Also recording top finishes for the women were junior
Kari Keller with 58.58 time in the 100 free, and freshman
Liz Muller, who finished first in the 200 IM (2:24.46). Oeste won the lengthy 500 yard freestyle event at 5:35.83.
The Lions are now 8-1 on the season and return to action on January 14 when they hit the road to take on Misericordia for a Middle Atlantic Conference meet.
