The Albright College volleyball team lost a pair of matches at Delaware Valley on Saturday, losing in a tri-match with the hosts and Rutgers-Camden.
The Lions were competitive in a pair of 3-1 defeats. They lost to Rutgers-Camden 19-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-17 before falling to DVC 25-27, 25-21, 25-21, 25-18.
Albright was efficient in winning the opening set of each match. The Lions hit .250 in a 25-19 opening game win vs. Rutgers-Camden, and hit .289 in taking game one 27-25 vs. the Aggies.
In the first match vs. Rutgers-Camden, senior
Alyssa Hoogendoorn totaled seven kills and three blocks, while classmate
Casey McFadden had 23 digs. Juniors
Morgan Heath (11 assists) and
Christa Mantz (6 kills, 12 digs) also contributed.
Against Delaware Valley, sophomore
Brandy Blimline had a career day with 12 kills and three total blocks. She hit .360 for the match.
Hoogendoorn added seven kills and three blocks, while Heath had 18 assists and McFadden dug 22 balls.
The Lions fall to 6-14 overall and travel to Widener on Tuesday.
