Christa Mantz had eight kills and 16 digs, but the Albright College volleyball team dropped a Commonwealth match in straight sets, Tuesday night at Widener.
The Lions were beaten 3-0 (25-18, 25-9, 25-16) and were most competitive in the opening set, as they were in winning the first set of their previous two losses.
Also recorded double-digit digs were seniors
Casey McFadden (18) and
Alexa Jones (11). Junior
Morgan Heath had 18 assists and nine digs. Senior
Alyssa Hoogendoorn and Mantz each totaled three block assists.
For Widener,
Angela DiMaria had nine kills and 13 digs.
Meghan Spence had 16 digs, and setter
Maggie Greenburg added 28 assists.
The Lions are 6-15, 1-7, and will host Arcadia on Thursday in their final home game. Seniors McFadden, Jones, Hoogendoorn and
