The Albright College women's swim team finished first in every individual event, beating Lycoming 155-99 in the Lions' 2012-13 home opener.
The Lions won the meet's opening 200 medley relay, in 1:57.15. Albright followed that with a 1-2 finish in the 1000 free, with
Amanda Osterlind (11:11.03) and
Liz Muller (11:33.90).
Sophomore
Gwen Stefan won the 200 free, with a time of 2:03.68.
Kaitlyn Huizing took the 100 back, in 1:03.69, while
Tricia Janowiak was second (1:04.92).
Sophomore
Lauren Cormier led an Albright sweep in the 100 breast (1:12.61), just barely edging teammate
Kari Keller (1:12.65). Senior
Emily Summers placed third for the Lions.
Senior
Madison Hauk won the 200 fly, in 2:25.17, with Osterlind placing second (2:27.78).
Albright took at least the top two places in the next five events, including a sweep in the 50 free.
Codi Herr (25.24) was first, followed by Stefan (26.51) and Janowiak (26.76).
Herr also won the 100 free, in 54.61, ahead of teammate
Adina Gaughran. In the 200 back
Kaitlyn Huizing (2:19.71) and Janowiak took the top two spots.
Senior
Kari Keller led the 200 breast event in 2:37.52. Cormier placed second, in 2:42.59.
Stefan won the 500 free with a time of 5:33.74, leading the final Albright sweep of the day. She managed to beat Osterlind (5:35.57), the second-place finisher in the conference last season. Muller placed third, in 5:43.69.
With the Lions swimming exhibitions, Herr finished first in the 100 fly (1:02.04), and Hauk touched the wall first in the 200 IM (2:24.31).
Albright is 2-0 (2-0 MAC) and travels to face Widener on Saturday. Albright, Lycoming and Widener are the last three MAC champions.
