The Albright College women's swimming team broke a rare two-meet losing streak with an emphatic victory on Sunday, beating Arcadia 180-62 in the Natatorium.
The Lions took the top two places in the opening relay.
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Lauren Cormier,
Madison Hauk and
Adina Gaughran won the 200 medley, with
Tricia Janowiak,
Kari Keller,
Codi Herr and
Amanda Fisher taking second.
Herr continued her winning streak, taking first in the 50 free (25.16) and the 100 fly (1:00.50).
Liz Muller won the 200 free, with a time of 2:06.50. Janowiak followed that up with victory in the 100 back, swimming the race in 1:04.21.
In the 100 breast, senior
Emily Summers won in 1:13.50- ahead of classmate Hauk (1:14.60).
The Lions swept the 200 fly, led by sophomore
Danielle Hassard (2:35.53).
Melanie Roy (second) and
Erika McEnany (third) also placed for Albright.
Albright later swept the 200 breast, led by Cormier (2:40.12) and followed by Muller and Summers. Summer was part of another Lion sweep, taking second in the 200 IM behind Cormier (2:29.11) and ahead of third-place
Allie Peters.
Sophomore
Gwen Stefan won the 100 free, in 56.46. Classmates
Amanda Osterlind and Hassard then went 1-2 in the 200 back event.
Also winning for the Lions was
Kaitlyn Huizing, with a time of 5:37.89 in the 500 free.
Albright is 3-2, 3-1 MAC and will welcome former assistant coach
Cindy Ikeler on Thursday when she returns as head coach of Cabrini College.
