The Albright College men's swimming team faced Division II opponent Bloomsburg University on the road Saturday, losing by a score of 137-117.
Junior
Ralph Porrazzo had a pair of top-two finishes, winning the 100 back in 54.63. He placed second in the 200 back with a time of 2:00.87.
Also winning an event was junior
Mike McBride, taking the 100 free in 49.43. Teammate
Matt Runtas was third (50.65). McBride was also third in the 200 free (1:51.27).
Sophomore
Rick Sutton also had a good day, taking second place in the 1000 free (10:25.06) and third place in the 500 free (5:00.67).
Sophomore Adam Vogel was third in the 200 fly (2:04.38). Runtas took third in the 50 free in 22.41, edging teammate
Alex Bauer by just one-hundredth of a second.
Bloomsburg had opened up a lead early in the meet after sweeping the 100 breast, but sophomore
Josh Park did later grab third in the 200 breast (2:23.41).
With Bloomsburg swimming exhibitions late, Vogel took the points in a pair of races. He swam 55.34 in the 100 fly, ahead of teammates
Adam Kurtz and Bauer; and finished the 200 IM in 2:04.43, ahead of Park and
Stephen Thomas.
The Lions' 400 free relay team of Runtas, Bauer, Porrazzo and McBride won the day's final event (3:18.63).
Albright is 6-2 on the season, and will host Hood and Ocean County College in a tri-meet on January 5.
