The Albright College volleyball team swept a tri-match at Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday, beating the hosts and Rosemont by 3-0 scorelines.
Albright beat Rosemont 3-0 (25-8, 25-10, 25-6) and then beat Gwynedd-Mercy 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-19). In the other match, GMC held on to beat Rosemont 3-2.
Against Rosemont, junior
Christa Mantz hit .524 with 13 kills on 21 attempts. She also added two service aces. Senior
Alexa Jones had a team-high nine digs, while
Erin Wentzel (19) and
Morgan Heath (10) each recorded double-digit assists.
In the win over GMC, Heath had six kills, 11 assists and two total blocks. Sophomore
Marisa Bartone had a big game with seven kills on 11 attempts and four total blocks.
The Red and White had a great day hitting as a team, with a percentage of .364 or higher in five of their six games played on Saturday. Albright hit .460 (with just four errors) against Rosemont and .295 vs. Gwynedd-Mercy.
The Lions have now won three of four and improve to 4-7 on the season. Albright travels to Messiah on Wednesday night for a Commonwealth Conference match.
