Results
The Albright College women's swimming team defeated Lycoming 129-71 on Saturday, in a matchup of teams that had won three of the last four MAC championships.
Lycoming won the conference title in 2010, with the Lions taking the MAC title in 2012 and 2013.
Albright opened with a win in the 200 medley relay, as
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Lauren Cormier,
Julia Barry and
Adina Gaughran finished in 1:57.11.
Junior
Amanda Osterlind took the 1000 free in 11:09.49.
Liz Muller (11:31.43) and
Allie Peters (11:53.34) completed the sweep. The Lions would also sweep the 500 free, with
Gwen Stefan (5:27.55) edging Osterlind (5:34.06) and Muller.
Stefan also won the 200 free, in 2:03.25. Freshman
Julie McNeil won the 200 IM with a time of 2:24.38.
Junior
Codi Herr won a pair of races, taking first in the 50 free (25.35) and 100 fly (59.52).
Senior
Tricia Janowiak (58.27) and freshman
Sam Hand (59.35) gave the Red and White a 1-2 finish in the 100 free. Huizing (1:04.60) just barely out-touched McNeil (1:04.77) in the 100 back.
Lions (2-0, 2-0 MAC) will host the 2011 MAC champions on Saturday, when Widener visits the Natatorium.
