Albright's graduating stars finished off the visitors with a flurry of service aces, as the Lions' volleyball team took a 3-0 Senior Day win over Central Penn College.
The Red and White took a 25-7, 25-13, 25-11 scoreline in the final home match for two senior captains-
Christa Mantz, the team's top attack option, and starting setter
Morgan Heath.
Mantz ran off an unbelievable five straight service aces to make it 18-8 in the third and final set. Her fourth straight ace bounced off the top of the netting, and the next one went off the leg of an opposing player.
Heath then closed out her final home match with an ace that gave Albright a 25-11 game decision.
Mantz finished with eight total service aces, one short of the school record for a three-game match. She also added seven kills and eight digs. Heath totaled six kills, 18 assists, two aces, nine digs and two block assists.
Junior
Brandy Blimline had a team-best eight kills and hit .467, and freshman
Caitlin Klotzbach totaled 10 digs and 10 assists.
Two quick Blimline kills helped Albright to a 3-0 lead in game one. Two straight Heath kills were sandwiched by two
Jordan Gibson aces, as part of a run that stretched the gap to 14-5.
Mantz added two straight aces to make it 19-6, and Gibson's diving dig went down in Central Penn's court for a 22-7 lead.
Albright led just 14-12 in game two, but a Heath ace helped them open up a six-point lead. Freshman
Maddy Greth served up an ace for a 24-13 lead; the Lions would total 16 aces as a team for the match.
The Lions improve to 11-15 and will finish their 2013 season tomorrow night at Arcadia.
