Results
The Albright College women's swimming team beat Messiah 142.5-119.5 on Saturday, in a battle of two teams who were 4-0 in MAC dual meet competition.
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Lauren Cormier,
Codi Herr and
Tricia Janowiak won the opening 200 medley relay with a time of 1:52.73.
Herr also won a pair of individual races, including the 100 fly (59.48). In the 200 free, she swam 2:00.96 while teammate
Gwen Stefan was second (2:01.36).
Albright continued to dominate in distance events.
Amanda Osterlind (11:01.11),
Liz Muller (11:20.51) and Allison Peters (11:42.48) swept the 1000 free, the day's second event.
Later on, Osterlind (5:25.32) and Stefan (5:27.37) would go 1-2 in the 500 free.
Freshman
Julia Barry won the 200 fly (2:19.69), right after classmate
Julie McNeil (1:13.57) placed second in the 100 breast behind Cormier (1:11.27).
Messiah won three straight events at that point, but Cormier broke the streak with another individual victory, this time in the 200 breast (2:37.68).
The Lions improve to 5-1, 5-0 on the season, and become the first Middle Atlantic Conference team this season to defeat the Falcons (4-3, 4-1).
