Results
The Albright College women's swimming team won on the road Tuesday night, beating Cabrini 112-80 in Radnor, Pa.
The Lions went 1-2 in the opening 400 medley relay.
Kaitlyn Huizing,
Lauren Cormier,
Codi Herr and
Gwen Stefan were first (4:14.69), ahead of
Tricia Janowiak,
Julie McNeil,
Julia Barry and
Adina Gaughran (4:26.51).
Albright ran off event wins early in the meet. Freshman
Sam Hand took the 1000 free, in 11:37.39, and Stefan won the 200 free in 2:01.48.
Liz Muller (26.59) and
Amanda Osterlind (26.67) led the way in the 50 free, as both distance swimmers tried their hand at a sprint event.
Cormier (1:06.44) and
Madeline Hudson (1:07.44) took the top two places in the 100 IM. Herr won the 50 fly (27.26).
Cabrini then took two consecutive races, but the Lions still picked up some points. Janowiak, Gaughran and
Gwen Fesmire placed 2-3-4 in the 100 free, while Hudson (second) and
Erika McEnany (third) placed in the 50 back.
Huizing placed first in the 500 free (5:37.26), ahead of teammate
Allie Peters (5:43.64).
With Albright swimming exhibitions, Cormier had the top time in the 50 breast. Herr, Hudson,
Melanie Roy and
Danielle Hassard turned in the top time in the closing 4x100 IM relay.
Cabrini was coached by
Cindy (Barner) Ikeler, a former assistant coach and Academic All-American at Albright. The Lions improve to 6-1 on the season and will host Elizabethtown on Saturday.
