Complete ResultsANNVILLE, Pa. –Albright College's men's swimming swam with heavy hearts in scoring a 100-97 victory in the debut for head coach Michael Hay at Lebanon Valley College Tuesday night in Middle Atlantic Conference action inside the Arnold Sports Center.
Before the meet opened, there was a moment of silence in memory of Albright sophomore swimmer
Matthew Rein who died in a house fire in September.
Senior
Rick Sutton captured two individual titles and was a member of the 200 medley relay team that raced to victory. Classmate
Alex Bauer also picked up two victories on the night.
Sutton was victorious in the 800 Meter Freestyle in a time of 9:17.11, freshman
Jayce Temperine placed second in 9:40.31.
Sutton also touched the wall first in the 100 M Backstroke in 1:02.32,
Sean Yuschovitz was third in 1:09.19.
Bauer was the winner in both the 100 and 200 M Freestyle events. In the 100 he touched the wall in 57.28, with
Michael Capogna taking third in 1:00.16.
Bauer's victory in the 200 Freestyle was accomplished in 2:06.69, followed by Yuschovitz who was second in 2:10.69.
Matt Runtas claimed the title in the 50 M Freestyle racing to a time of 24.74, teammate
Tim Resch was second in 26.87.
Ken Richardson took the top spot in the 200 M Individual Medley in 2:20.19,
Tyler Huizing finished third in 2:26.24.
The 200 M Medley squad of Sutton, Richardson, Runtas and
Mitch Cain won the first event of the night in 1:51.98, and the team of, Yuschovitz, Huizing
Drew Leahy,
Zach Griffith finished third in 1:58.87.
The score ended up close as the Lions swam the final three events as exhibitions.
Albright will pay tribute to Rein on Saturday at home, before it opens the meet against Lycoming at 2 p.m. inside the Natatorium.
