READING, Pa. -- Senior
Brandy Blimline posted her third consecutive double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs, but the Albright College volleyball team lost a tightly-contested match to Penn State-Berks 28-26, 25-22, 22-25, 25-11 on Monday in the Bollman Center.
The loss by the Lions snaps a two-match winning streak, while Penn State-Berks posted its eighth win in its last nine matches.
Blimline recorded double-doubles in Albright's victories over FDU-Florham and Delaware Valley over the weekend and made it three straight on Monday. She also had four blocks, two service aces and two assists.
Jordan Gibson had eight kills and six digs, while
Marisa Bartone added seven kills, three digs and two blocks.
Kellie Hill chipped in with five kills and four blocks, while
Caitlin Klotzbach had 17 digs and
Claudia Guise had 28 assists and eight digs.
Penn State-Berks was led by Sophia Zhang who had 25 kills and posted a .340 attack percentage. Cassidy Schultz added 10 kills and eight digs, while Jordan Heath had 51 assists and Megan DeAbreu had 25 digs.
Albright will visit Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference match on Wednesday (Oct. 8) and return to the Bollman Center on Friday (Oct. 10) for a non-conference match against Penn State-Altoona.
