GRANTHAM, Pa. - Rick Sutton and Ken Richardson each raced to two victories, but the Albright College men's swimming team fell 105-100 at Messiah College Saturday afternoon in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet.

The Lions (3-2-1, 3-1-1 MAC) won seven of the 11 events, with Matt Runtas and Alex Bauer each swimming to victory also along with the 200 yard freestyle team. The Falcons (4-4, 4-1 MAC), collected 10 runner-up finishes to defeat Albright for the first time in school history.

Sutton secured the victory in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:26.33, Tyler Huizing was third in 10:32.00 shaving over 14 seconds off his best time this season.

Sutton also captured the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:03.38, just a second and a half off his personal best, Sean Yuschovitz raced to a third-place finish touching the wall in 2:12.53.

Richardson raced to season best 2:03.45 to win the 200-yard individual medley and was the victor of the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:20.7.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Runtas finished in 22.11 to set a new personal mark for the season, Drew Leahy's time of 24.20 is a career best and was good enough for fifth place.

Bauer's time of 1:52.08 was just off his season's best of 1:51.45, but good enough for the victory in the 200-yard freestyle, Yuschovitz raced to a fourth-place finish in 1:58.7.

The 200-yard relay squad that included Bauer, Richardson, Runtas and Mitch Cain finished in 1:29.36 in capturing the title.

Albright returns to the Natatorium on Saturday Dec. 6 to host Wilkes University at 2 p.m.
