Game Two Box Score
The Albright College baseball team split their double header at Lebanon Valley on Saturday, falling 7-6 in Game 1 and defeating the Dutchmen 7-5 in the series finale.
The Lions scored first in Game One when designated hitter
Zac Okonski singled in
Nate Peiffer with two outs in the third to take the lead.
Rightfielder
Evan High homered to put the Lions up two. However, the Dutchmen rallied with a pair of their own in the home frame to tie the ballgame.
The Lions took the lead again on an RBI double from Okonski in the fifth. This wouldn't last long as the Dutchmen plated two runs in the sixth to take their first lead of the game.
Down to their final three outs, the Lions managed to tie the game in the top of the seventh and shut Lebanon Valley down in their half to send the game to extra innings for the second time in two days.
The Lions took a two run lead in the top of the eight on an RBI single from third baseman
John Medvecky. The Lions couldn't hold on to the lead as the Dutchman tagged reliever
Trey Eberly for three runs to win the game.
Albright managed to avoid the sweep in Game Three of the series. Freshman
Daniel Louviaux earned his first collegiate victory as he struck out two and allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings for the Lions.
Albright scored early once again when
Gabe Santone singled in Peiffer in the first inning.
Lebanon Valley scored runs in the second and fifth innings to take a 2-0 lead late into the game.
The Lions' offense exploded for five runs in the top of the sixth to go up three. Taking advantage of Dutchman errors in the field the Lions had the bases loaded with zero outs to start the inning. First baseman Santone drove in Peiffer on a suicide squeeze.
Max Dundore then singled to drive in
Collin Hecker. High doubled to drive in Dundore and Okonski. Catcher
Zachary Kiebler singled in High for the fifth run in the inning.
Albright wouldn't need to score another run but would add some insurance in the seventh on an RBI single from Okonski to drive in Peiffer.
Freshman
Trevor Mastria sealed the victory for the Lions with his second four out save of the season.
Albright is now 4-6, 2-4. They will play again at home on Wednesday March 26th.
