Penn State jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first, as
Colton Houseal doubled off pitcher
Zach Graham.
The Lions answered right back in the second, starting with a double by
Joe Pechulis and a single by
Collin Hecker, Pechulis later scored on a groundout from
Brandon Triantos. PSU Harrisburg tacked on another run in the third taking a 2-1 lead.
Albright took the lead for the first time in the game in the fifth inning as
Gabe Santone and
Collin Hecker both drew walks, scoring
Nathan Fretz (who doubled earlier in the inning) and
John Medvecky (who reached on an error).
In the sixth, the Lions added to their 3-2 lead, scoring two runs on three hits, including RBI singles by
Nate Peiffer and
Kevin Belskie putting Albright ahead by three runs.
Garrett McCutcheon's bases clearing double helped Penn State tie the ballgame in the bottom of the sixth inning, leading to three scoreless innings and sending the game to extra innings.
With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Houseal drew a bases loaded walk for PSU Harrisburg to give them the victory in a back and forth ballgame.
For the Lions,
Nate Peiffer had a solid day at the plate going 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
With today's loss, Albright falls to 8-13, while PSU Harrisburg improves to 6-24 on the season. The Lions will now face Alvernia University for a weekend series starting tomorrow.
