Brandy Blimline recorded 11 kills and 14 digs leading the Albright College volleyball team to a 25-19, 16-25, 25-22, 25-20 victory over Penn State Brandywine in the Lions home opener on Thursday in the Bollman Center.
It marked the second double-double of the season for Blimline as she also achieved the feat in the victory over Rutgers-Camden. She also added two assists and one block.
Albright, which won its second straight match, also received seven kills from
Nicole Vazquez and six kills from
Kellie Hill. Freshman setter
Claudia Guise also posted a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs.
The Lions (2-3) used a strong service match in notching the win. Vazquez led Albright with five service aces, while
Marisa Bartone had four and
Caitlin Klotzbach added two service aces.
Penn State Brandywine (0-4) was led by Nicole Poissant who had 12 kills and Kirsten Jerla who added 11 kills.
Albright won the first set 25-19 and hit .286 for the set, while limiting Penn State Brandywine to just a .132 attack percentage.
Penn State Brandywine rebounded to win the second set 25-16 before the Lions would claim the third and fourth sets to win the match.
