READING, Pa. – Seniors Amanda Osterlind and Codi Herr each won three events to lead the Albright women's swimming squad to a 161-101 Middle Atlantic Conference victory over Misericordia University Saturday afternoon inside the Albright Natatorium.

Kaitlyn Huizing recorded two victories for the Lions (7-2, 7-1 MAC), while Dani Blass won two individual and was part of two relay wins for the Cougars (3-5-1, 3-2 MAC).

Osterlind won the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:03.30 and she also led an Albright sweep in the 500-yard freestyle finishing in 5:24.66 with Gwen Stefan in the runner-up spot in 5:35.75, followed by Sam Hand in third (5:38.47). The Lions also swept in the 200 Individual Medley with Osterlind touching in 2:18.56, Liz Muller finished second in 2:25.07 and Julie McNeil placing third in 2:25.24.

Herr won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.27, the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 54.30 and the 100-yard butterfly in 59.65.

Huizing raced to victory in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.15, with McNeil taking the second spot in 1:04.38. She also touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:17.96.

In the 200-yard butterfly Danielle Hassard swam to first place in a time of 2:29.98, and Gwen Stefan secured the victory in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.67, Muller's time of 2:06.31 was good enough to finish second.

The Lions return to action next Saturday (Jan. 17) when they host King's College at 1 p.m., for senior day and the final home meet of the season.
