READING, Pa. -- Sophomore
Maddy Greth recorded a match-high 14 kills, but the Albright volleyball team lost a 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 non-conference decision to Penn State-Berks on Friday in the Beaver Community Center.
Greth had 14 kills and only five attack errors to finish with a .265 attack percentage. It marked her seventh double-figure kill match of the season, while her .265 attack percentage was her second-highest of the year.
Albright, which dropped to 5-16 overall, also received six kills and eight digs from freshman
Katie Schmerse. This marked the fifth straight match that Schmerse has posted at least four kills and five digs.
Freshman
Victoria Wainwright also had six kills for the Lions, which ties for her third-highest total of the season.
Sophomore
Claudia Guise posted 27 assists, seven digs and three kills. She recorded her second straight match without an attack error and has a .444 attack percentage in the last five matches combined.
Freshmen
Sarah Clark and
Becca Davis anchored the Albright defense. Clark finished with a career-best 14 digs, while Davis added 10 digs.
Penn State-Berks, which raised its record to 16-10 overall, was led by Cassidy Schultz who had 10 kills. Addie Parsons finished with nine kills, while Heleanna Davison had eight kills.
Albright will conclude the 2015 season with home matches against Messiah and Widener. The Lions will host the Falcons on Tuesday (Oct. 27) at 7 p.m. and then wrap up the season by hosting the Pride on Thursday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m.
