WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Albright junior
Sam Hand won two events leading the Albright women's swimming team in its dual meet with Lycoming on Saturday to open the 2015-16 season.
Hand finished first in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle events, but the Lions dropped a 124-81 decision to the Warriors.
Hand placed first in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:08.43 and won the 500 freestyle in 5:46.41 to pace Albright.
The Lions also received first-place finishes from
Allie Peters and
Julia Barry. Peters won the 1000 freestyle in a time of 11:50.28, while Barry finished first in the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:05.19.
Hand and Barry also each swam a leg on the Lions 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished first.
Dayne Martin,
Hannah Schrock, Barry and Hand placed first in a time of 1:52.32.
The Lions 200-yard medley relay team finished second as the team of
Madeline Hudson,
Lily Ritter, Barry and Martin finished in 2:04.50.
Hudson finished second in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.38, while Peters finished second in the 500 freestyle in 5:54.58.
