GRANTHAM, Pa- The Albright women's volleyball team dropped its final match on the road Tuesday night when the Lions (9-15, 1-6) were swept 3-0 by Commonwealth Conference opponent, Messiah College. The Falcons (23-6, 6-1) won 25-13, 25-6, 25-22.
Maddy Greth led the team with 10 kills and 6 digs, while
Shaniyah Taylor,
Morgan Puller, and
Victoria Wainwright each recorded two kills apiece to aid the Lions in their conference match-up.
Claudia Guise set the pace for Albright by dishing out 15 assists as well as finished the night with six digs and two kills.
Taylor also recorded two aces against a Messiah team that has limited opponents to an average 1.3 service aces per match.
Patricia Horgan joined her teammate by tallying an ace of her own. Defensively, Taylor was the lone Lion to record a block in the match.
Katie Schmerse added five digs for to Albright's total.
The Lions return home on Thursday night when they host cross-town rival Alvernia University. The match, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., will begin following a ceremony to honor the graduating seniors.
