WILKES-BARRE, Pa- The Albright College men's swimming team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon when the Lions fell 151-11 to Widener University. The Lions are now 2-1 on the season.
Ken Richardson topped the podium twice for Albright winning the 200 breaststroke and 200 IM. Richardson beat teammate
Tyler Chamberlin by one second to win the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.45. The senior earned his second victory of the day finishing the 200 IM in 2:04.06.
Chamberlin did earn a victory of his own in the 100 breaststroke. The sophomore was the lone swimmer in the race to finish in less than a minute as Chamberlin's final race time was 59.95.
Teag Culver blew his competition out of the water as the freshman finished almost seven seconds ahead of his competition in the 1000 freestyle. Culver defeated his opponents with a time of 10:19.46.
Maliq Williams and Connor Hassard finished one-two in the 200 butterfly with Williams earning the win. The freshman finished the race with a time of 2:06.61 while Hassard, a sophomore, finished less than two seconds behind him.
The Lions return to the pool on Saturday hosting Arcadia University at 1 p.m. for its second home dual meet of the season.
