Erin Farrell scored four goals, but Ursinus used a 7-1 run over the first and second half to defeat Albright 16-13 on Saturday at Shirk Stadium.

Albright held a 6-5 lead with 8:14 to play in the first period after
Mariah Cullen scored an unassisted goal, but Ursinus closed the half with goals by Taylor DeBernardi and Courtney Cortese to take a 7-6 lead into the break.

The Bears scored the first two goals of the second half to increase the lead to 9-6 with 23:01 left to play.

Sydney Nankervis scored an unassisted goal at the 21:36 mark of the second half to cut the lead to 9-7.

Ursinus, which improved to 2-0 on the season, then tacked on three more goals to increase the lead to 12-7 with 17:19 left to play.

Albright would rally back into the game by scoring four of the next five goals.

Cullen scored a free position goal to cut the lead to 12-8, but Kaci McNeave answered for the Bears to up the lead to 13-8 with 13:56 left in the game.

Farrell then scored three consecutive goals to bring Albright to within 13-11 with 11:24 left in the game.

McNeave responded with a goal for the Bears and Cortese added back-to-back goals to increase the lead to 16-11.

Danielle Carey scored two goals for the Lions with under a minute to play to bring the final margin to 16-13.

Tori Meyer,
Amanda Smith and Carey each finished with two goals for the Lions. Cullen had four points in the game as she also had two assists.

Ursinus was led by Cortese who scored six goals, while McNeave finished with four goals.

Albright, which dropped to 1-1 on the season, will return to action on Tuesday (March 1) when it hosts Susquehanna at 4 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
