READING, Pa. --
Erin Farrell scored four goals and had two assists and
Jacqui Montague had three goals and three assists leading Albright to a 22-2 MAC Commonwealth victory over Hood on Sunday at Shirk Stadium.
Albright, which improved to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play, won for the second straight time and third time in its last four games.
Albright, which led 13-2 at halftime, also received three goals from
Mariah Cullen and
Tori Meyer.
Sophie Bass,
Amanda Smith,
Katie Keough and
Tara Gilroy finished with two goals each and
Corinne Donohue added a goal.
Danielle Carey tied Montague with a team-high three assists, while Farrell had a pair of helpers. Bass, Cullen and
Monica Scafuro also had assists for Albright.
All three Albright goalies saw action during the game led by starter
Emily Hutson who made three saves in 26:41 to pick up the win.
Hayley Joyce played 24:36 and made one save, while
Shannon Bremer played 8:43.
Albright dominated play as it outshot the visiting Blazers 39-7 and had a 17-8 advantage in draw controls.
Hood, which fell to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in league play, was led by Jade Locklear who had a goal and an assist, while Christina Murphy also scored for the Blazers.
Meyer opened the game with back-to-back goals to stake the Lions to a 2-0 lead with 26:05 to play in the first period.
Locklear cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal for Hood, but Albright reeled off a 10-0 run to take a 12-1 lead with 4:42 to play in the first half.
Albright outscored Hood 9-0 in the second half.
Albright returns to action on Wednesday (April 13) when it hosts Alvernia at 4 p.m. at Shirk Stadium.
