Amanda Smith and
Mariah Cullen each recorded five points, but Albright had its three-game winning streak halted with a 19-13 loss to Stevenson on Saturday at Mustang Stadium.
Stevenson, which improved to 6-7 overall and 4-0 in conference play, used a 9-1 run midway through the first half to pull away from the Lions.
Stevenson jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Albright quickly answered when
Jacqui Montague scored off a feed from
Danielle Carey to tie the game at 1-1 wtih 24:37 to play.
The Mustangs then scored five straight goals to take a 6-1 lead with 12:41 to play before halftime. Cullen ended the Stevenson run with a goal off a pass from Smith that broguth the Lions to within 6-2.
Stevenson responded with four straight goals to push the lead to 10-2 with 2:52 to play before halftime.
A pair of goals from Carey before halftime brought the Lions to within 11-4 at the intermission.
Stevenson scored the first three goals of the second half to push the lead to 14-4 with 24:14 left in the game.
The Mustangs held an 18-9 lead before the Lions ripped off four straight goals, including three from Smith, to climb to within 18-13 with 1:33 to play.
Albright, which dropped to 8-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play, also got three goals from Carey and a goal from
Corinne Donohue. Carey, Cullen,
Erin Farrell and Smith each had assists for the Lions.
Albright hosts Widener on Wednesday (April 20) at 4:30 p.m. in Shirk Stadium.
