READING, Pa. -- Albright junior
Matthew Muoio extended his winning streak to five straight matches with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Alijah Broadnax leading the Lions to an 8-1 non-conference victory over Cabrini on Monday at the Albright Tennis Courts.
Muoio, who also won at No. 1 doubles, has not lost since March 30 and raised his singles record to 6-6 on the season.
Albright, which ran its winning streak to two straight, also got singles wins from
Ken Richardson,
Dylan Rutt,
Colemann Mitchell and
Joey Olkusz.
Muoio and Richardson led the way for the Lions in doubles as they defeated Broadnax and Sean Jaeger 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
The Lions proceeded to sweep doubles as
Evan Cuff and Olkusz defeated Mike Halbherr and Tyler Bond 8-3 at No. 2 doubles and Rutt and Mitchell defeated Nick Scaramuzza and Bruce Overbay 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
Richardson dominated Halbherr at No. 3 singles as he cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win, while Rutt beat Bond 6-0 and 7-5 at No. 4 singles. Olkusz was victorious at No. 6 singles as he beat Overbay 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
Mitchell earned his first win of the season with a 3-6, 7-6, 11-9 win against Scaramuzza at No. 5 singles.
Albright, which improved to 3-11 on the season, returns to action on Tuesday (April 19) when it hosts Arcadia at 2:30 p.m.
