FREDERICK, Md. – The Albright volleyball team returned to action on Wednesday night at Hood, but the Blazers topped the Lions in straight sets. Hood won the match 25-15, 25-20 and 25-16.
Kellie Hill led the Lions with seven kills.
Claudia Guise had five kills and led the team with a .308 hitting percentage.
Paige Westra also had five kills along with a team-high 13 digs.
Morgan Puller had four kills and 11 digs.
Hood held Albright to .000 hitting percentage while hitting .257 on its offensive chances. Hood hit .344 in the first set and .414 in the third set. In the middle set, Albright held the Blazers to just .115 hitting in the closest of the three sets.
Albright had the score tied at 14 in the second set after a kill by Hill, but the Blazers came back to take a four-point lead, 20-16. The Lions fought back to score three of the next four points to make it 21-19 as Westra capped that stretch with a kill. Hood managed to score four of the next five points to take that set.
Guise added 15 assists for the Lions.
Albright returns to action for the final home game of the season on Tuesday against Messiah. The Lions will honors their seniors before the 7 p.m. match.
