WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Ashlyn Chermol and freshman
Juli Hyatt each won three events in leading the Albright women's swim team to a 162-97 decision over Lycoming in a dual meet to open the 2017-18 season.
Chermol finished first in the 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, and 500 freestyle, while Hyatt captured wins in the 1000 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 IM in her collegiate debut.
Chermol earned first place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:03.58 and won the 200 butterfly with a 2:16.05 pace, while winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:33.77. Hyatt completed the 1000 freestyle in 11:18.96, the 200 breaststroke in 2:34.79, and the 200 IM in 2:21.48 to win all three.
Sophomores
Alexis Willis,
Sammy Murphy, and Freshman
Anna Moffitt also all earned victories in their respective races. Willis won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.60, while Murphy finished ahead of the competition in the 100 freestyle in 57.57 with Willis finishing in second place. Moffitt earned her victory by finishing the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.38 and edged out a pair of teammates in the process.
The Lions also finished in first place in the 200 yard medley and freestyle relay with Willis, Hyatt, Chermol, and Murphy taking the top honors with a time of 1:56.71 in the medley, while Murphy, senior
Dayne Martin, Moffitt, and Willis won the freestyle with a time of 1:46.60
Albright returns to the pool on Saturday, October 28, when it hosts Widener its first home meet of the season.
