RADNOR, Pa. – The Albright Lions women's swimming team used three players scoring multiple wins in individual events to defeat Cabrini in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon, 136-100.
The Lions picked up nine individual wins on the day, including three swimmers each posting two wins in the meet. Freshman Juli Hyatt earned wins in the 500 freestyle and 1650 yard freestyle, while sophomore
Ashlyn Chermol picked up wins in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard freestyle. Sophomore
Jesse Zamora then earned wins in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke. Along with those three swimmers, Senior
Alex Trego earned a win in the 200 yard butterfly and sophomore
Sammy Murphy earned first place in the 200 yard freestyle, while junior
Hannah Schrock won the 50 yard freestyle.
Hyatt posted the best time in the MAC so far this season in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:22.18 before tallying the second best time in the MAC this season in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:24.16. Chermol posted a time of 1:04.68 to win the 100 yard backstroke before registering the fourth best time in the MAC this season for the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.51. Zamora tallied a time of 1:19.32 to win the 100 yard breaststroke, and followed that up with a time of 2:49.93 to win the 200 yard breaststroke. Murphy tallied a time of 2:07.90 to win the 200 yard freestyle, while Trego registered a time of 2:40.71 to win the 200 yard butterfly. Schrock then won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.51.
Albright also posted a win in the 200 yard medley relay team with Zamora, Chermol, sophomore
Alexis Willis, and freshman Anna Moffitt leading the way for a time of 2:00.39
The Lions will return to the pool at the Golden Ram Invitational in West Chester on Friday, December 8th and Saturday, December 9th.
