READING, Pa. – The freshmen trio of
Allyson Kraff,
Alaina Ricci and
Regina McCarter all won a pair of races apiece as the Albright Lions women's swimming team won their fourth straight dual meet with a 118-78 victory over Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon at the Albright Natatorium.
Kraff won the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:39.91 and took home the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 11:38.75, while Ricci captured the 200 free in 2:05.48 and won the 200 fly with a time of 2:22.39. McCarter won the 200 IM in 2:21.85, just edging out the Owls' Maya Schneider at 2:21.98 and also outdueled Schneider in the 200 back with a time of 2:21.10.
Other winners for the Lions included junior
Sammy Murphy in the 100 free (56.70) and the quartet of freshman
Bianca Wargo, sophomore
Juli Hyatt, Ricci and senior
Hannah Schrock took home the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:56.82.
Murphy took second in the 200 free with a time of 2:07.46, Hyatt placed second in the 50 free as she touched the wall in 26.68 and freshman
Violet Shattuck was second in the 200 fly in 2:30.19.
The Lions return to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 2 with a tri meet against Messiah and Misericordia that will be hosted by the Falcons beginning at 1 p.m.
