READING, Pa. – The Albright Lions women's swimming team won eight individual races and cruised to a 120-43 victory over Hood in MAC dual meet action on Saturday afternoon at the Albright Natatorium.
The trio of freshman
Alaina Ricci, freshman
Allyson Kraff and junior
Sammy Murphy each won two races apiece to pace the Lions. Ricci captured the 200 free in a time of 2:08.36 and the 200 fly with a time of 2:26.18, while Kraff took home the 1650 free in 19:35.15 and the 500 free in 5:49.41. Murphy won the 50 free in a time of 25.79 and touched the wall in a time of 56.50 to win the 100 free.
Other winners for Albright included freshman
Regina McCarter in the 400 IM (5:03.51) and the quartet of freshman
Bianca Wargo, sophomore
Juli Hyatt, McCarter and Murphy in the 200 medley relay (1:57.64).
There were several second place finishes for the Lions on the afternoon including freshman Maddie Werndl in the 500 free (5:59.92) and 1650 free (20:40.82), senior
Hannah Schrock in the 200 free (2:12.33), Hyatt in the 50 free (26.58), freshman
Brooke Schlott in the 200 fly (2:40.40) and Wargo took second in the 200 back (2:25.08).
Schrock is the team's lone senior and was honored in a post-meet ceremony.
Albright is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 19 when they head to Elizabethtown for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
