WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Albright men's swimming team started off the 2019 season with a 159-84 win over the Lycoming Warriors on Saturday afternoon at the Lamade Gym Natatorium.
The defending MAC champions won 11 of the 14 events and were led by junior
Corey Hausler who had two individual wins. Hausler finished first in both breaststroke events, winning the 50 breaststroke in 29.70 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.24.
Starting the meet off was a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay by the team of sophomore Joe Guiliano, first-year
Drew MacDonald, senior
Anthony Spanier, and junior
Chris Laite (1:44.44).
Individual winners from the meet include junior Harry Hunsberger in the 1000 freestyle (10:22.60), junior
Bryce Schaffer in the 100 butterfly (52.48), Guiliano in the 50 freestyle (23.43), senior
Teag Culver in the 500 freestyle (5:00.350), senior
Maliq Williams in the 50 butterfly (25.69) and Laite in the 100 freestyle (49.10).
Head coach
John Stuhltrager was welcomed back to Albright with a win from both the men's and women's swimming teams today at Lycoming.
The Lions will host Widener on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. for the first home meet of the 2019 season.
