RADNOR, Pa. – The Albright women's swimming team captured victories in 10 of 14 events on Saturday afternoon against Cabrini to earn a road win, 141-120.
The Lions were led by sophomore
Alaina Ricci, earning a win in each event she swam. The meet kicked off with a win in the 200 medley relay by Ricci, junior
Juli Hyatt, first-year
Megan Misurelli, and senior
Sammy Murphy in 1:58.09. Ricci took both backstroke events – the 100 in 1:04.96 and the 200 in 2:19.52. In her third individual, Ricci touched the wall first again to win the 100 butterfly in 1:05.28.
In addition to the first relay, Misurelli added two more wins for the Lions, including the 200 freestyle in 2:07.21 and the 500 freestyle in 5:40.25. In the 200 freestyle, Misurelli finished second in 58.47 behind teammate Murphy who posted a time of 57.67. Murphy notched her own win in the 50 freestyle in 26.35 and grabbed a second place in the 100 butterfly behind Ricci.
The final two wins came from sophomore
Violet Shattuck in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:34.30 and Hyatt in the 1000 freestyle in 11:46.54.
Albright swimming will return to action on Nov. 23 and 24 as both teams will compete at the Diamond City Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Saturday's session will begin at 9 a.m. and Sunday's at 10 a.m.
