GRANTHAM, Pa. – In the final races of the regular season, the Albright men's and women's swimming teams competed in a tri-meet against Misericordia at Messiah on Saturday afternoon.
The men won both meets, with a 170-87 win against Misericordia and a slim 138-122 victory against Messiah. The women's team fell to Misericordia 170-79 and to Messiah 153-98.
Juniors
Chris Laite and
Bryce Schaffer led the way on the men's side with two individual and one relay win each. Laite took the 200 freestyle in 1:47.06 and the 100 freestyle in 48.28. His 100 freestyle time from today currently ranks fifth in the Mid Atlantic Conference and his 200 freestyle is ninth. Schaffer won the 200 backstroke in 1:56.81, sittingn sixth in the MAC, and the 100 butterfly after clocking a 51.21. The 200 medley relay team of sophomore

Corey Hausler, Schaffer, and Laite opened the meet by finishing first in 1:38.17, the third-fastest time in the conference.
Senior
Teag Culver also picked up two individual wins in the 1000 freestyle in 10:01.83 and the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:51.13.
Will Griffith earned second in the 500 freestyle (4:56.20) and junior Harry Hunsberger swam to a third-place finish in the event (4:58.94). Senior
Maliq Williams finished behind Schaffer in the 100 butterfly in 56.00 and classmate
Anthony Spanier earned third place with a 56.59.
Messiah and Misericordia finished first to the wall in all 14 events on the women's side. Junior
Maggie Jones picked up two second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:04.06) and the 100 freestyle (56.07). Senior
Faith Guzzo finished second in the 1000 freestyle after hitting the wall in 12:32.87. In the 500 freestyle, sophomore Alaine Ricci finished second in 5:37.46 and first-year
Megan Misurelli was third in 5:38.13. The 100 breaststroke saw junior
Juli Hyatt earn third place in 1:11.89.
The swimmers from both teams will travel to York, Pa. from February 13 through February 16 for the conference championships. The first session will open on Thursday, February 13 at 6 p.m.
