YORK, Pa. – The Albright women's swimming team saw one relay team medal and six Lions swim in finals individually on day three of the MAC Swimming Championships.
The 800 freestyle relay team of
Juli Hyatt,
Alaina Ricci,
Sammy Murphy, and
Maggie Jones dropped over 24 seconds off their seed time and earned the bronze after clocking a 7:59.84.
Caitlin Bedesem,
Megan Misurelli,
Violet Shattuck, and
Faith Guzzo finished in 18
th with a time of 8:43 in the event.
Sophomore
Alaina Ricci competed in the A final for the 100 backstroke and finished in eighth place with a time of 1:01.90. Her prelims time of 1:01.17 is the seventh-fastest time in school history in the event.
In the 100 breaststroke, Hyatt earned eighth overall with a time of 1:10.15. In prelims, she swam a season-best time of 1:09.25. Junior
Rachel Nye and senior
Jesse Zamora competed in the C final. Nye finished in 20
th overall with a personal-best of 1:14.78 and Zamora finished in 24
th in 1:17.20.
The 200 butterfly saw two Lions compete in finals and sophomore
Brooke Schlott led the way in 13
th with a personal-best time of 2:21.28. Classmate
Violet Shattuck finished in 21
st with a personal-best time of 2:21.28.
This morning in prelims, senior
Faith Guzzo swam the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:44.68 for 28
th place overall in her first time swimming the event at MAC Championships.
The Albright women's team continues to rank seventh in the team standings with 475 points. Stevens leads currently with 880.5 points and Misericordia follows with 838 points.
