YORK, Pa. – The Albright women's swimming team concluded the 2020 MAC Championships with seven Lions advancing to finals on day four to secure seventh place overall in the team standings.
The Albright women's swimming team earned 650 points to place seventh in the 2020 MAC Championships. Stevens Institute of Technology took the team title with 1178.5 points and Misericordia followed closely behind with 1131 points for second place.
Jones earned fourth place in the 100 freestyle with a personal-best time of 53.84. Her time is the fourth-fastest time in school history in the event. Senior
Sammy Murphy finished 11
th with a time of 55.47 and first-year
Megan Misurelli was 13
th with a personal-best time of 56.20.
Sophomore
Alaina Ricci swam the A final of the 200 backstroke to finish fifth overall in a time of 2:12.34.
Junior
Juli Hyatt swam a personal-best time of 2:29.64 to win the B final of the 200 breaststroke by over five seconds. Her time in the event is the sixth-fastest in school history. Junior
Rachel Nye finished in 20
th with a time of 2:40.43 and senior
Jesse Zamora swam a 2:46.09 for 23
rd.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Misurelli, Ricci, Murphy, and Jones finished in fourth place with a time of 3:42.61. In 20
th with a time of 3:54.51 was the team of Schlott, Mogara, Bedesem, and Hyatt.
Senior
Faith Guzzo swam the 1650 freestyle for 24
th overall with a time of 20:09.42.
In prelims this morning, senior
Caitlin Bedesem swam the 100 freestyle in a time of 1:00.44 and junior
Amantle Mogara finished right after in 1:00.58. Sophomore
Violet Shattuck swam a time of 2:28.14 in the 200 backstroke.
