READING, Pa. - The Albright volleyball team (10-12, 0-7 MAC Commonwealth) dropped their match against cross town rival Alvernia (10-13, 2-5 MAC Commonwealth) on Senior Day this evening. The visiting Golden Wolves won the match 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-15) in front of a large and raucous crowd. Tonight's match was the 2022 home season finale for the Lions.

Prior to the start of tonight's match Albright honored their three seniors. The three Seniors are Shelby Cheuvront, Grace Andrefski and Abigail Hai. Coach Poss would like to thank the trio for all their hard work and dedication to Albright's women's volleyball program over the years. 

Alvernia jumped out to a 9-0 lead forcing Albright into an early timeout. The timeout was key as it allowed Albright to regroup and battle back in the set. The Lions would roar all the way back, tying the first set at 20. However, Alvernia found their earlier magic and took the opening set. 

The second set was neck and neck through the first 24 points with Albright and Alvernia knotted up at 12. Alvernia wound up using a late set run to win the second frame and ultimately the match over Albright. 

Paola Mejias led the way for the Lions tonight recording 16 assists and 15 digs. 

Rachel Etim had six kills and Shelby Cheuvront tallied 10 digs and one service ace.

Albright will conclude their 2022 campaign on Thursday, October 27 when they head on the road to play Widener. First serve will take place at 7 p.m.
