Jersey City, NJ - The Albright Lions fell to New Jersey City University in straight sets on Friday night. The score was 18-25, 19-25, and 22-25. The loss drops the Lions to 10-7 on the season, while NJCU improves to 11-8.
The first set saw the Lions take a 13-12 lead. But NJCU used an 8-1 run to take control of the set. They would win the set 25-18.
The second set was a similar story, as the Lions once again held a 13-12 lead. This time NJCU used an 11-2 run to take over the set before winning it 25-19.
The third set was a back and forth affair, but NJCU had an answer for everything the Lions threw at them they would take the set 25-22, giving them the match.
The leaders for the Lions were
Sophie Hampton (6 kills),
Shelby Cheuvront (12 assists), and
Kyra Lycett (19 digs).
The Lions will next play on Tuesday, October 11th, as they host Messiah at 7pm.
