Langhorne, PA - The Albright Lions fell to the Cairn Highlanders in four set son Thursday night. Cairn won by a score of 25-23, 19-25, 25-17, 25-19. The Loss drops the Lions to 9-5 on the season, while Cairn improves to 9-2.
Cairn got out to an early 5-1 lead, but the Lions would use a 6-0 run to take a lead. But then Cairn went on a run and grabbed a 17-9 lead. The Lions would not go away though, as they would close it to 23-22. They would not be able to make the comeback though, as Cairn would win two of the next three points to take the first set 25-23.
The second set saw the Lions get out to an early lead, and despite the Highlanders making things interesting by getting it within a point at 15-14, the Lions never were any real trouble, winning the set 25-19.
In a pivotal third set, Cairn got out to a 6-1 lead, but the Lions would fight back and use a 10-3 run to take an 11-9 lead. But the Highlanders then used a 9-0 run to take control of the set. Despite a valient effort by the Lions to get back into the set, Cairn would win it 25-17.
The fourth set started as a back and forth affair, but Cairn would use a 5-0 lead to take a 15-9 lead. The teams would trade points the rest of the way, with the Highlanders winning the set, and the match, on an ace.
