Women’s Swimming Hosts Widener in Home Opener

The Albright women’s swimming team hosted Widener University this afternoon competing in the Lions home pool for the first time this season.

READING, Pa.- The Albright women's swimming team returned to the John Scholl LifeSports Center on Saturday (Oct. 21) hosting Widener University in their first home meet of the season. 

FULL MEET RESULTS 

Laurel Gingrich had a busy day in and out of the pool. Before Gingrich took to the field for the Albright field hockey team later in the day, Gingrich won her only event of the day in the pool winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.95. 

Morgan Stuhltrager competed in three different events today and performed admirably in all three. Stuhltrager turned in times of 2:24.86 in the 200-yard IM, 1:05.96 in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:09.51 in the 100-yard backstroke. 

Ruth Castro took to the pool today for two events both in the form of the freestyle stroke. Castro raced to a time of 36.21 in the 50-yard freestyle and a time of 1:29.81 in the 100-yard freestyle. 

Up Next:
The women's swimming team will have a couple weeks off before returning to the John Scholl LifeSports Center for a matchup against Hood College. The meet is set for a 1 p.m. start.
