GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Albright women's volleyball team (15-8, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) entered back into the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play on Tuesday (Oct. 24) night squaring off against the Messiah Falcons (19-6, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth). The Falcons got the better of the Lions in tonight's match winning 3-0.
This past weekend, the Lions tied the most wins in a single season since the 2009 campaign with wins over Rutgers-Newark and King's College (Pa.) during a tri-match. The wins were the 14th and 15th of the season and moved the Lions to an impressive mark of 9-1 in tri-matches this season.
Sophie Hampton of the Albright volleyball team was named MAC Commonwealth offensive Player of the Week, for the three games played last week. Hampton totaled 41 kills in the three games on her way to the first Player of the Week honor for Albright since 2019.

Messiah took the opening set of the night taking a 1-0 lead in the match.
Rachel Etim looked to get the Lions going offensively, recording four first set kills.
Lindsey Korn was strong defensively in the first set tallying 12 digs.
The Falcons closed out the match winning the second and third sets over Albright.
Etim finished with a team high seven kills. Reining MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week
Sophie Hampton chipped in with six kills of her own.
Korn tallied a total of 18 digs in the match in a strong game defensively for the Lions.
Neve Straff filled up the box score with 12 digs, three kills and a service ace.

The volleyball team will return home for the final non conference match of the season hosting Delaware Valley. The game is set for a 12 p.m. start this weekend on Saturday, October 28.
