READING Pa. - The Albright women's volleyball team (16-9) returned home on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon and swept the visiting Delaware Valley Aggies (11-13) 3-0 on the Lions home floor. Albright's 16th win on the season is the most wins in a single season since 2003.
The Lions have enjoyed an overall very successful season to date. Albright secured their 16th win of the season this afternoon, placing them in a tie for second in Albright's volleyball program history for total wins in a season. The 2003 Lions volleyball team won a program record 18 games.
Todays game was the final nonconference game for Albright and the Lions finished the nonconference schedule going 16-3.
Todays match was closely contested throughout but Albright handled their business down the stretch of each and every set to earn a sweep over Delaware Valley. Albright trailed 20-16 in the third and final set and roared all the way back to win the third set 25-22 via a 9-2 run.
Sophie Hampton kept her strong play of late rolling into todays game. Hampton went for a game high 16 kills, pacing the Lions offensively.
Neve Straff chipped in with 11 kills of her, finishing the game with an impressive attack percentage of .500. Straff added to her stat line tallying seven digs and three service aces.
Lindsey Korn was everywhere defensively for the Lions spoiling attacks from Delaware Valley. Korn recored 19 digs to led the way on the defensive side of the ball for Albright.
Ryenn Mamrosch and
Isabella Garay set up their teammates all afternoon going for 17 and 15 assists, respectively. Mamrosch had the hot hand serving the ball ending the game with four service aces.

The volleyball team will close out the regular season at home on Wednesday, November 1 with a matchup against Widener. The game is set for a 7 p.m. first serve.
