ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Albright women's volleyball team (13-4, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road for the first time since the away tri-match on September 23 squaring off against Eastern University (15-3, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth). Eastern won the match over Albright 3-0.
Tonight's match was the third MAC Commonwealth game of the season for both teams.
Eastern jumped out to a quick two to zero sets lead over the Lions.
Albright would not go down without a fight taking the third set over Eastern. In the third set the Lions came back from a 24-22 deficit saving two match points for Eastern to force overtime in the third set.
The Lions would go on a run after tying the third set at 24 scoring the sets next four out of six points to take the third set and force the match into a fourth set.
Neve Straff had it going in the third set recording six kills to lead the Lions offensive charge.
The Lions put forth a strong effort but Eastern was able to close out the match in four sets.
Sophie Hampton finished with a team high nine kills and was followed by Straff with eight who also added 15 digs.
Rachel Etim had a solid all around game recording four block assists, six digs and five kills.

The women's volleyball team returns home to the Bollman Center for a non conference match against Washington College (Md.) on Saturday, October 7. First serve is set for a 12 p.m. start.
