READING, Pa. - The Albright women's volleyball team (13-5) played host to Washington College of Maryland (6-11) on Saturday afternoon and fell to the visitors by a final score of 3-0.
Today's meeting was the first meeting between the two sides since the 2013 season.
The first set was tightly contested between the two sides. The Lions led 20-18 late in the set but the Shorewomen of Washington College (Md.) closed the set on a 7-2 run to steal the opening set.
Washington College of Maryland carried the first set win momentum into the second set winning the second set and going up 2-0 in the match.
Neve Straff and Shophie Hampton each recorded three kills in the set looking to spark the Albright offense.
The third set went the way of the Shorewomen taking the third set to close out the match over the Lions.
Straff finished with a team high 10 kills while also adding 12 digs and two aces. Hampton was second on the team in kills finishing today's game with seven.
Lindsey Korn was solid for Albright recording 14 digs throughout the match.
