YORK, Pa. - The Albright college women's swimming team was back in the pool and collected another gold medal in the 200 freestyle courtesy of
Laurel Gingrich. The Junior bested the field turning on the jets in the final lap to claim first place.
DAY 2 EVENING SESSION RESULTS
Laurel Gingrich makes it back to back MAC champions on the first two days for the Albright swimming team following up Stuhltrager's gold in the 200-yard IM last night. For Gingrich, tonight's first place finish marks the first MAC Championship of her career and the first one for Albright in this specific event since 2010.
Gingrich finished the 200-yard race in 1:55.60. Gingrich turned in the fastest last lap of the finals of 29.78 propelling her to the conference title.
Morgan Stuhltrager followed up her gold medal performance earning a spot right back on the podium this time in the 400-yard IM. Stuhltrager turned in a time of 4:54.08 good enough for sixth place. Last night, Stuhltrager claimed the first MAC Swimming title for Albright since 2018 in the 200-yard IM.
Megan Misurelli found herself back on the podium after another strong performance in the pool this time in the 200-yard freestyle. Misurelli took home 7th with a time of 2:00.32.
