YORK, Pa. - The Albright College women's swimming team was in action on the first day of the 2023 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Swimming Championships and made some noise in the finals placing two swimmers to top three finishes and one fifth place finish.
Morgan Stuhltrager took home the gold in the 200-yard IM,
Laurel Gingrich placed second in the 50-free and
Megan Misurelli took home fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.

Morgan Stuhltrager bested the field in the 200-yard IM on day one of the 2023 MAC Swimming Championships. Stuhltrager sped through the pool finishing with a time of 2:10.77 nearly two seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
For Stuhltrager tonight's title marks her third standing on the podium in her Albright career. In 2022, Stuhltrager placed 4th in the IM and 4th in the 100 butterfly. In addition, it is the first MAC Champion in any event since 2018 for Albright and the first 200 IM MAC champion since 2010. Stuhltrager now holds the second fastest time for 200 IM MAC Champions in program history.
Having one of the fastest times in prelims,
Laurel Gingrich earned her fourth podium finish in her Albright career tonight taking second in the 50-yard freestyle finals. Gingrich finished with a dazzling time of 24.20 earning the silver medal. The time of 24.20 was good enough to tie the previous program record.
Misurelli was the first Albright swimmer to earn a trip to the podium taking fifth in the 500-yard freestyle, the first event of the finals. Misurelli took home fifth with a time of 5:21.62 starting the Lions off on the right foot.
