CHESTER, Pa. – Women's volleyball (14-6, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) jumped back into conference play on Wednesday night for the first time in eight days on the road at Widener (15-10, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth). The Pride topped the Lions in tonight's match 3-1.
Neve Straff led the way tonight for Albright recording 13 kills. Straff has been as consistent as they come this season now having 12 such games this season recording 10 or more kills. Straff also tallied 16 digs in an all-around strong effort.
Sophie Hampton went for a team high 18 digs getting it done on the defensive side of the ball. The senior Lion digs output this evening is the second most in any such game this season. Offensively, Hampton recorded eight kills.
Paola Mejias did a little bit of everything tonight filling up the stat sheet. Mejias went for 30 assists, 13 digs, seven kills and six service aces. The aces are the most in a match for Mejias since the third game of this season.
Rachel Etim recorded six block assists in another strong defensive effort for the junior. Etim has registered at least one block solo or block assist in all but two games this season.
A total of five Albright Lions finished with 10 or more digs this evening.
Winniffer Rodriguez tallied 16 digs while
Lindsey Korn went for 10 digs while also having four service aces.
